Following Is An Overview And Guide To Our Website, Activities And Events:
LATA WEBSITE:
- Our LATA website is the 'master hub' for all information and participation for all events.
- The 'MEMBERS HOME' tab along the top and drop downs includes general information, events, membership directory, etc.
- To see when all our events are happening, find our CALENDAR, click the main MEMBERS tab along the top, scroll down to the very bottom of that page, or use this link: https://www.lataweb.com/members
- The remaining tabs across the top are general information for each specific category (ie Members, Leagues, Challenge Ladder, Tournaments etc). The drop downs from these tabs are specific events along with registrations if required.

- All members with a Tier assignment are eligible to Sub in any/all leagues AND participate in our Challenge Ladder, included free with your LATA membership. If you are new and unranked, be sure to contact our Ranking Director at ranking@lataweb.com
- Our new Challenge Ladder format is happening, with options to challenge players or assigned matches organized by our Ladder Director, as well as tournaments throughout the year. Go to 'LADDER' tab for more info or contact our Ladder Director at ladder@lataweb.com
- Watch for our 'SCORE' Newsletter, emailed to members, for info, scoop and everything LATA!
LEAGUES:
- Winter leagues are set, 7 in total. Registration opens December 15 at 10am, be sure to register for 2025 membership first, then go back to select a league of your choice.
- As a member, subbing in included, be sure you 'opted in' during membership registration. You are eligible to Substitute (Sub) for any league when the league player cannot show (the absentee player is tasked to find their own Sub). Please make sure you have reviewed the sub policy under League Rules. If you receive a 'request for Sub' via mass email, respond right away, spots go quickly!

CHALLENGE LADDER:
- Our 'Ladder' is is included with your 2025 Membership, as long as you 'opted in' during membership registration.
- We offer year round range of activities, including our core Challenge Ladder, Ladder Tournaments, Ladder Social Events and Activities.
- We currently schedule 2 Ladder 'seasons', January thru May and July thru November. Those who achieved highest points in all tiers earn a spot in the Ladder Playoffs at the end of each season.
- The 'LADDER' tab across the top of our homepage includes details of all Ladder activities. The drop downs include the Ladder Directory, Rankings, Results and Events. The Ladder Directory includes all LATA members listed by tier and contact info.

TENNIS CLINICS:
- We call our tennis clinics DRILLS 'n FRILLS (DnF)! . We supply the Coaches, the courts, the balls, the fun; you supply your desire to test your skills and your tennis-hungry grin.
- DnF has proven to be so popular we now plan them 4 times a year, in January, April, June and October. All levels are welcome, we especially encourage all new members to participate.
TOURNAMENTS, DROP-IN TENNIS, INTERCITY TEAM COMPETITIONS (CUPS):
- We host a variety of LATA inter-league, GLTA international tournaments and Intercity Team Competitions (CUPS) and are scattered throughout the year.
- LATA's most popular is our very own annual inter club 'Hall Of Fame Club Tournament', which includes singles and doubles. This tournament typically takes place over 2 weekends in June. We also plan and host a year-end tournament, this 'evolving' tournament takes on various formats and competition. Other LATA tournaments may be planned at various times throughout the year.
- We host several GLTA international tournaments, currently the LA Open (spring) and Long Beach Doubles (summer).
- Watch for THE SCORE newsletter, emails and website for news., as all tennis competitions require advance registration.
SOCIAL EVENTS:
- LATA organizes several social events throughout the year, such as happy hour, pool parties, casual drop-in tennis and our most exciting the year end party.
- Check our calendar and watch for emails about all upcoming events.
YOUR 2025 LATA MEMBERSHIP FEE INCLUDES:
- Access to the LATA website, the 'master hub' for all information for everything LATA
- Eligibility as a League Tennis Sub (option to 'opt-in' or 'opt-out')
- Your name added to the Challenge Ladder (option to 'opt-in' or 'opt-out'); also eligible for Ladder Tournaments organized at least twice in a Calendar year
- Access to many of LATA's Social Events, which may include Summer Pool Party, Fall Picnic, and our biggest social: the year-end Holiday Party
- LATA's bi-weekly Newsletter, THE SCORE, gives you the latest Club competition results, info about upcoming tennis and social activities, member profiles, LATA news and more.

- LATA Memberships are based on Calendar Year.
- Calendar Year 2025 Membership Fee (1/1/25-12/31/25): $35
- 1/2 Year 2025 Membership Fee (7/1/25-12/31/25): $25
- You must register for 2025 LATA Membership to stay active, access website, and participate in any LATA events.
- If you want to play a league, join membership first, go back to join the League(s) of your choice.

WHAT'S INCLUDED WITH MY LATA MEMBERSHIP?
- Subbing for tennis leagues is free, included with your membership. You will be added to our Sub List for all Tennis Leagues (Option to opt in/out during registration process)
- Challenge Ladder is free - including monthly Challenge Ladder draws, seasonal tournaments (Option to opt in/out during registration process)
- Access to our LATA website, the hub for all membership directories, activities and registrations
- Many planned social activities, functions and gatherings, such as a pool party, picnic and year end holiday party
- Newsletters, social media and communications of all LATA related activities, results, member profiles and more
WHAT ARE ADDITIONAL COSTS?
- Tennis Leagues: Prices vary by league, format and location
- Tournaments: Inter/national and Club tournaments planned throughout the year, prices vary
- Cups: Each Cup will set a 'tryout' fee and if selected, a final 'team' fee
- Additional Tennis Activities: Various activities including drills, clinics, social drop in, will be offered throughout the year
- Social Activities: Many will be included with your membership, 'special' events may be planned with a fee to cover costs
RANKING DAY:
- We encourage players of all skill levels to participate in LATA events. Getting ranked ensures you will always play other players at similar skill levels.
- Our initial new Member Ranking Day happens early January, with additional ranking days/times scheduled throughout the year.
- You do not need to have a ranking to be a member, but all members are required to have a ranking to play in leagues, ladder and inter-club tournaments.
TENNIS LEAGUES:
- Our Tennis Leagues are the most popular LATA activities. We offer a full slate of seasonal and year-round tennis, including new league formats, locations, days and times.

DRILLS CLINICS:
- We call our drills clinics "DRILLS 'n FRILLS" ('DnF')- Our most popular Tennis Clinic.
- Our 'DnF' events are planned quarterly, open to all members, all levels, and you do not need to have an LATA ranking to participate.
- 'DnF' will hone your tennis skills, a great workout, always fun and social.
CHALLENGE LADDER:
- A full year of Challenge Ladders and Ladder Tournaments are planned
TOURNAMENTS:
- LATA sponsors inter-club singles, doubles and social tournaments throughout the year. Additionally LATA hosts GLTA (inter)national tournaments.

CUPS:
- A full slate of 'CUPS', organized team tournament events for all members and levels, competing against other West Coast Clubs.
- Tryouts typically begin spring/summer. Tournament 'host cities' rotate annually, summer/fall.
